'''Stornway''' is a town in ''[[Dragon Quest IX]]''. It is one of the first towns visited by the [[Hero (Dragon Quest IX)|hero]]. It is home to the [[Quester's Rest]] inn and is generally considered the "central" location in the game, despite only being involved in the early plot. The region surrounding the town shares the name [[Stornway (region)|Stornway]].  

Much of Stornway's importance is related to the Quester's Rest inn. It makes Stornway the hub for changing party members, accessing multiplayer, and [[DQVC]] features of ''[[Dragon Quest IX]]''. The town adds two additional shops after completing the main story of the game. In the post game, Stornway has many quests which are focused on its royal family, kingdom history, and characters in the Quester's Rest.

Arriving in Stornway, the player becomes involved in the saga with the [[Wight Knight]] and [[List of minor characters in Dragon Quest IX#Princess Simona|Princess Simona]]. This involves trips to a clearing north of the castle, as well as [[Brigadoom]]. After resolving he conflict, King Schott tells the player that the checkpoint east of the castle is now open, allowing passage to [[Coffinwell]].

In addition to the main plot, Stornway is also where the player sees Erinn relocate from Angel Falls and assume control over the Quester's Rest inn. This concludes her role in the main portion of the plot.
