Stomp is a recurring ability in the Dragon Quest series.

It damages all enemies with a tremor, with the elemental damage varying between games.

Appearances

Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen

Stomp appears as an enemy-only skill used by the drakulards in the bonus dungeon, the Fungeon.

Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride

Stomp is used by metal dragons.

Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation

Stomp is learned by advancing to rank 4 of the Ranger vocation. It deals 50~65 Woosh-type damage for 0 MP and has a 13rd chance to fail regardless of terrain, always failing at sea.

It is used by the enemies Cabot, the Scrimsley Terror, living statues, and stone guardians.

As there is no Ranger vocation in VII, Stomp can only be learned by reaching rank 6 of the Golem vocation and rank 1 of the Paladin in the 3DS remake.

It is used by the enemies drakulards, drakulords, lumberdraks, weighverns, and warlord weighverns.

Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King

Stomp is used exclusively by Juggerwroth in the 3DS version of the game.

Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies

A handful of enemies will throw their weight around in IX, dealing anywhere from 15~19 damage to 90~108 damage. Naturally, the obese Drakulord hits heaviest with the skill. Stomp's element has switched from wind to earth as well. This marks the first time the skill has not dealt 50~65 damage.

Monster Damage range
Garth Goyle 15~19
Stone guardian 24~30
Drastic drackal 27~32
Gadrongo 33~41

Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker

Boulder Bash costs 8 MP to use and deals around 80~100 earth damage to all enemies. In this game, it does not have a chance to fail. The skill can be learned with 60 points in the Cluboon skill or 24 points in Cluboon II.

Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2

Boulder Bash now deals a combination of Bang and Donk-element damage. It can still be learned from Cluboon and Cluboon II. The skill can now also be learned from:

Dragon Quest Monsters: Terry's Wonderland 3D

Dragon Quest Monsters 2: Iru and Luca's Marvelous Mysterious Key

Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3

Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince

Stomp costs 12 MP and deals (Level x 0.8) + 40 damage to all enemies. It is learned through the Airhead, Bombshell, Crag Afficionado, Hulk, and Wrecker talents.

Dragon Quest Tact

Stomp is an enemy-only skill that can be used by Metal dragon during the Woosh-type Upgrade level on Hell difficulty. It costs 49 MP to use and inflicts major typeless martial damage to a single enemy.
