In its original appearance, the sacrosanct armour has a near-identical appearance to the sacred armour, being a delicate set of golden and silver filigree armour decorated with green gemstones. Compared to the sacred armour, the gold filigree on the chest has been polished to a high sheen and various runes have been inscribed into the [[Wikipedia:Faulds (armour)|faulds]]. The über sacred armour has a completely different colour scheme, with light blue filigree, blue gemstones on the shoulders and waist, and smaller red gemstones on the front of the waistguard.

The über sacred armour appears exclusively in the 3DS version of the game. It has a defence bonus of +92 and restores 30 HP at the end of each turn. The enhanced version only increases in defence, not the amount of HP restored each turn. It can only be equipped by the [[Hero (Dragon Quest VIII)|Hero]] and [[Angelo]], like the sacred armour.
