It can be purchased in shops for 320 {{Gold}} in the {{NES}} version, but in remake versions of the game, it is obtained by turning in 5 [[mini medal]]s to the medal collector in [[Aliahan]]. It can also be sold for 240 {{Gold}}.  Regardless of versions, [[Overtoad]]s can sometimes drop them.
*In the {{NES}} version, this weapon only dealt damage to a single enemy, only gaining the ability of other whips to attack a group in remakes. [[Warrior]]s and [[Merchant]]s were able to equip the whip, but lose the ability to do so in remake versions of the game.
