'''Grimland''' is a land mass in the [[Overworld (Dragon Quest III)|overworld]] of {{DQ3}}. It is located north of [[Persistence]], and geographically corresponds to the country of Greenland. The only building on the entire landmass is a little house called the Hermitage<ref>Name given when [[Storeyteller]] is used in the [[Cell phone]] version</ref>.

This isolated strip of permafrost is home to an old man who was given the [[Boatman's Bone]] by residents from the [[Pirates' Den]] a long while before the events of the game. Eventually, his island is visited by the {{Hero 3}}, to whom he informs an interest in the [[Mod Rod]]. The {{Hero 3}} exchanges the Staff and receives the bone in turn, with the hermit having a different appearance and slightly altered dialogue with each subsequent visit.
