The abacus is an S-rank weapon that can be acquired as part of the Japan-only limited ''Ultimate Dragon Quest IV'' event by clearing the featured stage in The Chaotic Martial Arts Tournament. It has an ATK bonus of +28, raises physical potency for [[Hero family|Hero]] units by 5%, and has three slots for Alchemy Effects.
 
The ability costs 98 MP to use, has a range of up to three squares away from him, applies Locked-On to a single enemy for 3 turns that can't be reflected, then deals unreflectable 410% potency physical damage to them. Astrea's Abacus is a recurring weapon in the series. In Swords, it is a novelty weapon which can be used to earn extra money while equipped. It consists of an abacus calculating tool mounted at the end of a polearm. It is the signature weapon of Torneko Taloon in Dragon Quest IV.

Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen[edit]

The abacus increases Torneko's attack by +35, and casts Poof when used as an item in battle. It can be purchased in Mintos for 1,600 gold and sold for 1,200.
