Toadies are large, man-sized green batracians with large yellow eyes. Using their powerful hind legs, they leap into battle and strike enemies with their long tongues. After their original appearance in ''III'', these giant, wart-covered amphibians did not make a reappearance in a main series game until ''XI'', nearly three decades apart.
