Multiple Upload

Multiple file uploads are now available by using the multiple upload special page. Permissions regarding file uploads have been altered slightly to help cut back on spam uploads.

Dragon Quest IX Alchemy Search

I wrote an open source alchemy search tool for Dragon Quest IX. You can access it here. It is useful for figuring out what you need to make something specific. It also includes the locations where you can find ingredients rather than relying on alchemy to make them all.

Mediawiki Upgrade

I have upgraded the wiki to use the latest version of Mediawiki: 1.17. If you spot any issues, please leave a message on my talk page. I have already fixed one minor issue with the Recent Changes page. Also, the transparency with the page tabs is known and being worked on.

Image Indexing Update

Looks like Google has now picked up a lot of our images. There are over a thousand which show up when searching. Take a look.

Backups and Canonical URLs

Backups for the wiki are now available to all users and visitors. Visit Dragon Quest Wiki:Backup for more details. Also, the canonical URL for the wiki has been set to be dragon-quest.org. Any URL which has 'www' on it will be redirected. Legacy URLs containing 'dqde' are still being redirected as well. Hot linking of images by external websites has been disabled.

Image Search Indexing

The directory structure of the wiki has been updated to allow bots/spiders to access images. Prior to this, only article/text content has been indexed by sites like Google. The changes will not be immediate, but over time you should be able to do a google image search and find images which have been uploaded to the wiki. Hopefully, this will improve visibility for the site. If you have Dragon Quest related images which are not yet on the wiki, please upload them! Also, any images found on the Dragon's Den which are useful in wiki articles should be uploaded as well. When possible, upload PNG files which feature transparent backgrounds. This makes images much more reusable in various articles on the wiki.

Main Page Updates

The main page (the one you are likely viewing) has received an overall redesign. New features include a poll question, featured image, improved news RSS feeds, and better use of space. It should look good in any screen resolution down to 1024x768. Hopefully this will attract more users to look around and visit some articles.
