A trio of buntzenberners appear as the bosses of Quest #76: Longing for a Thief King. They have the ability to cast Blunt, Snooze, Fuddle, and Dazzle, can breathe out Burning Breath to inflict paralysis or a Cursed Mist. The only way to truly defeat a Buntzenberner is by stealing their Buntzenberner Heart with a Thief's Half-Inch ability.
- In the Offline version of the game, the boss battle starts with only a pair of Buntzenberners, but a third one will appear when one is defeated.
