| Later, the mine became a place of great tragedy. The miners accidentally dug through to a complex of tunnels that ultimately leads to [[Esturk's palace]], and poisonous gas spilled out and killed or sickened nearly everyone in town. However, the [[Hero (Dragon Warrior IV)|hero's]] party ventured through the mines in order to defeat the great evil, [[Esturk]].
