Tension Boost is the Gladiator vocation's Coup de Grâce technique, which raises their Tension in an immense burst of anger.

Tension Boost is the deathmove of the monster team know as The Psyche Wards, consisting of Big Al, Hazel, Jewelbag, and Trick Bag. It boosts the tension of the team itself and the human party members by two stages, with the humans' triggering once they reenter the battle.

Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies

Tension Boost has a 50% chance to raise the character's tension to 50 or 100, and if any tension was previously accumulated then the character will always enter a state of super high tension.

Tension Boost sends the user into an inexhaustible state of super high tension for 30 seconds.
