Winksters are young one-eyed [[Demon family|demon]] mages with orange skin that float about in midair. They wear green wizard's robes with a pendant around their necks and wide-brimmed hats that are much larger than their heads. In their left hands, the winksters carry simple wands topped with a red orb, which they use to cast basic fire spells. They take on the role of early game spellcasters from other monsters in the series. Their limited reserves of magic power typically means they are only able to cast '''Frizz''' once or a few times. Like many other monsters in the series, winksters are now depicted with five fingers on their hands in modern appearances instead of four.

The Winkster is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first appearing in Dragon Quest IV. It is an apprentice demon magician that can cast simple spells.

Characteristics

Winksters are young one-eyed demon mages with orange skin that float about in midair. They wear green wizard's robes with a pendant around their necks and wide-brimmed hats that are much larger than their heads. In their left hands, the winksters carry simple wands topped with a red orb, which they use to cast basic fire spells. They take on the role of early game spellcasters from other monsters in the series. Their limited reserves of magic power typically means they are only able to cast Frizz once or a few times. Like many other monsters in the series, winksters are now depicted with five fingers on their hands in modern appearances instead of four.
