In the Dragon Quest III remakes, amazon is a female-only personality that improves strength growth, but reduces agility, wisdom, and luck growth.
The hero cannot become an amazon at the start of the game. However, if a female hero parties with the Pirate Captain after defeating Baramos, the hero will become an amazon.
Other female party members have a chance to be an amazon when recruited as any class, depending on their stat bonuses.
An existing character cannot become an amazon through items.
