Setting - A Tavern Somewhere

Nina: What a relief. I finally feel like myself again.

Goopy: Goop!

Roly: Occasional rest is vital. You should take the opportunity to recuperate whenever you can, [Hero Name].

???: Would you look at that! I can hardly believe my eyes!

Roly: Query: Is there a reason why this human is salivating at the sight of me?

???: You... are OLD! Ancient, even. I bet you're programmed to do all sorts of things!

Roly: An astute analysis in just one glance! My sensors indicate we have encountered an exceptional individual, [Hero Name]!

???: Drat! I see this machine has already become attached to you. Oh well——so much for persuading you to part with it!

Roly: Correct! Our bond cannot be broken for any price!

Nina: How do you know what Roly is? Who...are you?

???: Oh, where are my manners? I completely forgot to introduce myself.

Sela: My name's Sela. A pleasure to meet you!

Sela: I'm a traveling merchant. I journey across land and sea, stopping in every town and city along the way.

Sela: I've seen everything the world has to offer, so I know what I'm dealing with when I see it.

Sela: Anyway, to business. [Hero Name], I need you to lend me your strength!

Roly: [Hero Name]'s strength?

Sela: That's right! I know a powerhouse when I see one, and your friend here is the real deal! You see...

Sela: Word has it that a certain someone has their sights set on some ancient relics known as guardian stones.

Nina: Guardian stones?

Sela: Indeed. So could because they were said to work as lucky charms.

Nina: Roly? Does that ring any bells?

Roly: Error! Confound my capacitors! My memory bank data appears to be corrupted.

Roly: All I am able to ascertain is that it was not a rare artefact in its time——many similar items existed

Sela: Roly's definitely a capable machine. That's the thing——there are plenty of them around.

Sela: I don't think they do anything special, but some collectors are weirdly obsessed with them.

Sela: Maybe because they're ancient and small enough to fit in the palm of your hand. Makes 'em easy to collect.

Nina: As interesting as these stones sound, where does [Hero Name] come into this?

Sela: Don't worry. I was just getting to that part!

Sela: My investigations have revealed that there are tons of guardian stones in a nearby ruin.

Sela: I'd like to comb that ruin for them but...

Sela: ...the place is crawling with mechanised monsters!

Sela: And if that's not bad enough, there's supposed to be a rather powerful monster lurking in its depths.

Sela: As I'm sure you've noticed, I'm no warrior. I couldn't take on a monster if my life depended on it.

Sela: But that doesn't mean I'm going to let this chance pass me by!

Sela: That's where you come in! Who better to go into the ruin but a capable adventurer like yourself?

Roly: Any ruin is a piece of cake for [Hero Name]!

Roly: Although, something is sending my alarm bells ringing.

Setting - A Tavern Somewhere

Sela: Hello again! What a relief to see you back safe and sound!

Roly: Simply another day on the job for [Hero Name].

Sela: Great! Now I can give you another ruin to take care of!

Nina: Another one?

Sela: Yes. it's different from the first one.

Sela: I hear it's teeming with dragons.

Sela: And I'm sure there are a different sort of guardian stones there!
