The steel helmet is a recurring helmet in the series introduced in Dragon Quest IX. It is the upgraded form of the iron helmet.

Dragon Quest XI
The steel helmet has a defence bonus of +26, reaching to a maximum of +30 if upgraded to the +3 rank using the Fun-Size Forge. It can be equipped by the Hero, Sylvando, and Hendrik. The helmet can be created using the Forge, dropped rarely by Deadnauts, and can be sold for 1,400 gold.
Recipe: Silver ore x3 + Iron ore x2 + Royal soil x2
