Baumren's Bell (バウムレンのすず) is a unique item in the Dragon Quest series that calls a Great sabrecat that the Hero can ride on when used. It can also be used as quick escape item when used in battle against Great sabrecats.

Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King[edit]

The Hero is gifted the bell by Master Felix at Chateau Felix after the party completes an important task for him.

Exclusive in the 3DS version of the game are two items that are similar to the usage of Baumren's bell, with the exception that they break after one use. These are the Darksteel bell and the White gold bell.

Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age (Definitive Edition version)[edit]

It is available in the Octagonia Casino for 120000 tokens after the mid-game event. It lets the call and ride a Great sabrecat. It can knock away weaker enemies so the Hero does not have to fight them (much like the horse when galloping) and can also roar to lure enemies in.
