The Compos mantis is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first appearing in Dragon Quest VII. It is a man-sized mantis that sows discord with its abilities. Its name is a play on the term "compos mentis".

CharacteristicsEdit
Mad mantis monsters with a garish purple and yellow color scheme that slash and cut enemies with toxin-infused claws, causing a fast acting confusion, driving them to assault friend or foe alike. The sneaky, purple skinned beasts even sling a confusion-causing spell to sow further chaos through the ranks of foes.
