The Dreadmaster is the boss of Swinedimples Academy in Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies. The Dreadmaster is a form taken on by the original founder of the academy, Sir Sternious Swinedimple, after a Fygg landed on his gravesite and awakened his spirit. Discontent with how the students of the present are taking their studies, he used the Fygg's power to abduct them so he could discipline them into being model pupils.
Harsh master of old-fashioned teaching techniques who held his extra-curricular sessions in the basement of Swinedimples. He built his academy in the wintry wasteland to toughen up his pupils. The cheap land prices didn't hurt, either...
