The kitty shield is a recurring shield in the Dragon Quest series. It is a novelty shield appearing alongside with the other cat-themed equipment and it offers a decent amount of protection for characters who typically cannot carry heavier shields.

The Kitty shield has a Defence bonus of +9 and a Style bonus of +8. It can only be equipped by Maribel Mayde and Ruff and can be purchased in L'Arca for 310 gold coins. In the 3DS Version, a kitty shield can be found on the world map in the past after crossing the bridge to the northeast of L'Arca.

The kitty shield has a Defense bonus of +12 and can one is found in the Swordsman's Labyrinth while more can be dropped by berserkers and metal slime knights. It can only be equipped by Jessica Albert and Angelo and is sold for 550 gold coins.
