Meditation

Meditation is a recurring ability in the Dragon Quest series. It heals the user, typically for 500 HP unless noted otherwise below.

Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of SalvationEdit

Meditation was retroactively added to the 2024 remake, learned by the Hero at level 28. It costs 5 MP.

Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the ChosenEdit

Psaro the Manslayer uses this ability during his later transformations during the final boss fight. During Chapter 6, Aamon uses it in his first form.

Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly BrideEdit

Meditation is learned by several monster companions such as the Golem.

Dragon Quest VI: Realms of RevelationEdit

Meditation can only be learned by advancing to rank 5 of the Hero vocation.

The bosses Belleau and Mortamor use it.

Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten PastEdit

Meditation can be learned at rank 1 as a Druid or advancing to rank 8 as a Rockbomb.

It is used by the enemies captain catastrophe, major disaster, and Orgodemir's final form in the final battle.

Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed KingEdit

Rhapthorne uses this ability during the final battle. The Lord of the Dragovians will also use the ability in his humanoid and Silver Dragon forms.

Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry SkiesEdit

This ability is learned with 82 skill points allocated into Focus skill. The technique only restores 80~90 HP, however.

Dragon Quest XEdit

Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive AgeEdit

Meditation is an enemy-only skill that can be used by Calasmos. It restores 999 HP to his main body when used.

Dragon Quest MonstersEdit

Called Meditate in this game, it requires the monster to reach level 26 with 182 HP, 156 Defense and 156 Intelligence. It is naturally learned by the BombCrag, Divinegon, DracoLord, HornBeet and StoneMan. It can also be learned with monsters with Guardian and StrongD.

Dragon Quest Monsters 2Edit

Meditate now requires 281 Intelligence to learn. It is naturally learned by the Azurile and Golem. It is no longer naturally learned by the HornBeet or StoneMan.

Meditation can be learned from various skill trees.

Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2Edit

Meditation can be learned from all the skills it could be previously, as well as from Leonyx for 29 points, Vile Void for 32 points, or Zenith Dragon for 18 points.

Meditation costs 35 MP and restores a fixed range of 300~400 HP. It is learned through the Aamon, Altruist, Calasmos, Fallen Angel Corvus, Good Knight, Healer, Mordegon, Lord of Shadows, Mordegon, Lord of Shadows, Martial Maven, Musclehead, Nelgel the Netherfiend, Nimzo, Psaro the Manslayer and Rhapthorne talents.

Dragon Quest TreasuresEdit

Meditation restores a minimum of 190 HP to the user for 5 MP and is learned by cyber bullies, ruby golems, and tanzaknights.

Dragon Quest RivalsEdit

Meditation appears as a card.

Dragon Quest TactEdit

Meditation can be learned by dragurns at level 22 and boss trolls at level 46. It costs 21 MP to use and restores a major amount of HP to the user. It can also be taught to any unit by using an ability scroll, which can be received as a reward for completing the seventh stage of Carver's Battle Road, the Time Trial: 5 Turns on Very Hard difficulty during the Dragon Quest VII event, or purchased from the Legend League Series 2 Medal Swap Shop.
