Shrine West of Moonbrooke

The Shrine West of Moonbrooke is the undersea cavern checkpoint that separates the kingdom of Moonbrooke from the western portion of Greater Alefgard.

AppearancesEdit

Dragon Quest II: Luminaries of the Legendary LineEdit

The shrine is a simple, man-made structure occupied by a priest.

Dragon Quest II HD-2D RemakeEdit

The shrine has been redesigned to be a natural submarine tunnel secured by Moonbrooke guards, who survived the massacre of their kingdom thanks to their post. The purpose of these guards is to prevent the player from avoiding saving the Princess of Moonbrooke, as they are on edge after the destruction of Moonbrooke and suspect the party might be monsters in disguise. They will not allow the group to pass without being shown irrefutable proof of their, namely the Mark of Midenhall and the Mark of Cannock. As the Mark of Moonbrooke was stolen in the raid, the Princess offers up the windbreaker as evidence, which one guard remembers on account of the King of Moonbrooke brazenly using it to glide from the tallest point in the castle some years back.

The guards' suspicion that the party may be monsters in disguise is subtle foreshadowing for events that will take place later in the game.
