The Golden Pickaxe is, as one might surmise, is a pickaxe with a golden sheen. It is said to be able to break down any barricade no matter its might.
Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation
The Golden Pickaxe is located in Destiny's Drop and is required to proceed through the tunnels leading to the summit by destroying rock walls on the path. It is also used in Castle Graceskull to find the hidden passage into the underground cavern beneath the castle, where the Armour of Orgo is located.
Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age
The Golden Pickaxe is a bonus item only found in the 3DS and Definitive versions of Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age, as a reward for completing the Tickington quest "Fogeys Just Wanna Have Fun". It grants an extra material drop when mining ore deposits.
