The Swingre is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first appearing in Dragon Quest IV. They are brutish demons wielding spiked iron balls in battle.
Characteristics
Swingres are giant-sized brutes with glowing eyes, armed with a double-ended steel spiked flail that they fling and swing with blistering speed. They have a mess of spiky white hair and bushy beards. Their outfits consist of long capes attached to leather harnesses on their torsos, a pair of briefs with belts around their waists, and boots, all colored black. However, when the swingres returned in VII, they had green skin instead and wore blue attire rather than their regular black. They are capable of landing desperate attacks with them to bring down adventurers in one fell swoop.
