The unnameed hero of Dragon Warrior is the son or daughter of a human and a Zenithian. He/She was raised in a small unnamed town north of Branca. His/Her childhood friend is a girl named Celia. When monsters attack the town to kill the hero, Celia uses the Transform spell to look like the hero and she is killed along with everyone else in the town while the hero remains hidden in an underground storeroom. The hero then sets off on his/her journey to discover his/her true identity and save the world.
