Ragin' Contagion

The Ragin' Contagion is the 4th boss of Dragon Quest IX, fought inside the Quarantomb, where long ago, it was sealed away by the people of Coffinwell to keep it from infecting the residents. However, after the Earthquake at the beginning, the Quarantomb was un-sealed, freeing the Ragin' Contagion and infecting the people of Coffinwell once again. During the fight, Dr. Phleming fixed the pot that once contained the contagion, sealing it away once again.

Game description: The very essence of illness, it was sealed up in the Quarantomb for a century, but came back to curse Coffinwell once more.

Guide description: This toxic pox was created to ensure that the nameless terror that slept in the Quarantomb stayed sealed inside forever.

Strategy

-It is recommended you are levels 18-22 when fighting the Ragin' Contagion,Metal Slimes can be found in the Quarantomb and provide high EXP

-Have a Priest for healing spells

-Have a Martial Artist equipped with Razor Claws; These are the best weapon you can get so far, combined with a martial artist's high Agility, strike first, and strike hard

-If You have a Mage, use accelerate, as the Ragin' Contagion knows Decelerate, and attacks Twice per turn normaly

-DO NOT use Woosh, as it does little damage to the Ragin' Contagion

-Get powerful Armor via Coffinwell shop or Alchemy, as you need as defence as possible during this fight

-Bring several status recovery items
