Yo[edit]

Hey Pantheon what's up? I haven't seen you in a while. I've been pretty busy in real life, but I'm hoping to jump back into editing soon. Do you ever get on the IRC? --FlyingRagnar 09:32, 14 December 2010 (CST)

Replied to in FlyingRagnar's user talk, yo. --PantheonSasuke 23:55, 14 December 2010 (CST)

Re: Taste the Rainbow[edit]

Unfortunately, I think we do need to keep both templates. The EnemyAttr one should really be integrated into the standard Enemy template. I think someone was making some updates to that template recently. As for the NotableEnemy one, I think it too is useful for displaying very basic information about an enemy on a location or other type of article.

I'm sure I'll get around to cleaning them up sooner or later.  ;) --FlyingRagnar 20:51, 22 December 2010 (CST)

You are correct about collapsing. Anywhere you are using a table, you can add "collapsible" as a class and it will collapse. See Template:Nav as an example. --FlyingRagnar 11:17, 23 December 2010 (CST)
Pantheon, your ideas for the attributes table are good ones. I particularly like the "group" coloring scheme. Gray is so boring and dull. I think you are right that the table fits IX specifically and that we will need other ones for the other games as necessary. --FlyingRagnar 13:02, 30 December 2010 (CST)

Pantheon, I think changing the names on the DQ9Enemy template to make them more relevant is a good idea. Please go ahead and do whatever you want. I don't think there needs to be a vote or anything. --FlyingRagnar 09:46, 27 January 2011 (CST)

Mean Horses[edit]

Jahmi -> Kon the Knight

centaurus -> revaulting horse

rampone -> pummel horse?

Does that sound right? --FlyingRagnar 18:38, 6 January 2011 (CST)

Moving files[edit]

Hey, thanks for finding the move files thing. By default, the wiki is configured to not allow normal users to move files. This is due to security concerns or other reasons. However, I have now added this privilege. Please try it again and let me know if you have issues. --FlyingRagnar 08:41, 8 February 2011 (CST)

Concerning moving files[edit]

Your recent project which I assume is not completed, you'd rename every file into in a specific order: its name; then its appearance in the game; and which system the game appears in. For example, File:Pazuzu DQII NES. However I prefer its naming to be (in order): the appearance in the game; then the system the game appears in (optional, if there is no remakes for that game) then finally its name. For example, File:DQ9Goodybag.png. This would make it easier to find files according to its games, however I admit there is an alternative way, which I am to lazy to make as for now. Can you change the wording of the files you rename according to my recommendation? You don't have to, but I like it better that way. (NVM)

Also, how do you personally locate the images that need to be renamed? Do you use categories as assistance?

Well yea, I just thought about this but... wouldn't it be better if you'd move images to like... File:Green dragon DQM GBC (or File:Green Dragon DQM GBC when it calls) instead of... File:Greendragon DQM GBC to fully utilize pagenames (aka { { PAGENAMES } }, without the spaces) in articles, so that it could change when the article's name changed (for example, when DQX renames monsters (at least monsters that weren't renamed yet like RotRaven and HangedApe)). For now, I shall rename article like you though.--V7ing 09:47, 4 September 2011 (CDT)
Fine. End of discussion. Maybe. :( :) --V7ing 21:05, 4 September 2011 (CDT)
...Continue discussion... according to one of your edits (or should I say "moves" (in this one particularly)), you moved the file to its correct uniform naming, and listed its game and system to its first appearance (and so showing "Dracky DQ NES" doubled as "Dracky DQII NES," as the Dracky in Dragon Quest II had the same sprite as Dragon Quest I). I assume with this algorithm, an sprite file named "Slime DQII NES" is theoretically wrong, as it is suppose to be "Slime DQ NES." Well. Yea. All of those moves for the enemies from the DS version of Dragon Quest IV... for example, File:Bubbleslime DQIV DS.png (File) should be renamed as File:Bubbleslime DQIV PSX.png (because DQIV PSX uses the same sprite as DQIV DS, and came out first). Yea. Don't worry, I made that mistake too. Perhaps we can make a bot that would fix it? Some (very few) images are in Category:Dragon Quest IV monster sprites (DS), if you don't want a bot to fix it. Perhaps I will help. (no, I do not know bots) --V7ing 20:40, 9 September 2011 (CDT)
I have a bot account setup, so if there is a need to do something I can probably get it done. However, this seems like splitting hairs a little bit. Personally, I really don't have a problem with their being identical images uploaded (one for DQ and one for DQII, for example), simply because it isn't always easy to tell if they are exactly identical. These images are small in size, so I guess I just favor whatever is the simplest solution. If we have just one image for say both the PSX and DS versions, there's also the possibility that joe shmoe comes along and uploads a second one because he thinks one is missing. Then we just have to clean it up. --FlyingRagnar
I don't really mind, but I want to get PantheonSasuke's permission first, because he is the one who started this project. --V7ing 21:23, 9 September 2011 (CDT)
Talking about bots, I just remembered something. I completely screwed up on something. Grr. Everything in Category:Dragon Quest ____ monster sprites needs to be moved to Category:Dragon Quest enemy/enemies sprites. Thank Terry for being a human and not a monster. --V7ing 21:32, 9 September 2011 (CDT)
I will put that on my todo list. In the meantime, just put any images you are working with in the correct Category:Dragon Quest __ enemy sprites category. --FlyingRagnar 21:45, 9 September 2011 (CDT)
Sorry. --V7ing 21:52, 9 September 2011 (CDT)
If I were you I wouldn't buy DQ joker 2 (yes, it is going to be my first sidegame I played, if I buy it, and if I do it better have been dirty cheap) seeing that Dragon Quest Joker 2 Pro is so much superior, y'know? Also having bigger monsters take up 2 or 3 party space is a big minus. --V7ing 21:14, 10 September 2011 (CDT)

Delete Privs[edit]

Pantheon, check to see if you can now delete stuff. I messed with some privileges to make it so that autoconfirmed users can delete. Let me know if it worked or not. --FlyingRagnar 12:05, 13 August 2011 (CDT)

--Users are only autoconfirmed after more than 10 days and more than 50 posts. I figure that is pretty safe for now. If necessary, I can up either of those amounts to make things more secure. --FlyingRagnar 19:16, 14 August 2011 (CDT)

Sup[edit]

Despite me making 1000+ edits while you were away, I still need help with "the Project." The Project has shifted a little bit. Kk? This is what we have to do. Ruthlessly delete all of the redirects of images you made, if you have time, you can fix the article with the right link, but you don't have to do that. We all still moving all the sprites to the correct name too, be ready to present an algorithm for the name of sprites of items, and when moving images, alas, suppress redirects, kk? We are only in the Des. We have to go to the Zs. Delete ANY Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker sprite I DID NOT UPLOAD AT SIGHT. Respond to me when you have read this message ASAP! --Vzing 18:50, 29 November 2011 (CST)

Slime DQIX DS artwork.png >:(.

The image was much bigger, but I didn't want to get ban by Flying. --Vzing 16:49, 2 December 2011 (CST) --Vzing 16:46, 2 December 2011 (CST)

Hi. :D --Vzing 20:42, 17 December 2011 (CST)

New Role[edit]

Pantheon, I've created a manager role and given it to you and a few others. It basically has all the capabilities you previously had (move, delete). It is easier to use a role so I can add/remove people which I cannot do using autoconfirmed. Hope you are well. --FlyingRagnar 08:54, 28 December 2011 (CST)

RE: Absence[edit]

No worries Pantheon. Overall, the wiki is fairly dormant. It is difficult to have anyone interested in a game series that has no new titles and no promotion by Square Enix. It is only natural to have interest be low. Even for myself, my overall interest has gone down since the release of Dragon Quest IX. Someday you might get the urge to do more editing, the wiki will still be here then. --FlyingRagnar 11:15, 8 December 2012 (CST)
