Beast Family (Japanese Kanji: 獣 Hiragana:けもの Romanji:Kemono Beast) refers to monsters in Dragon Quest series that take the form of beast animals, mostly fur animals. Usually their names give a hint of the animal they are based on. In some games, it also includes non-draconic members of the Bird and Aquatic families.
