The pit viper (also known as EvilViper and diethon) is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series. Introduced in Dragon Quest IV, it is a blue variant of the crested viper. In the 3DS version of Dragon Quest VII, the monster is called diethon, sharing its name with another monster in the series.

The diethon can be found in the Excavated Cave, the Malign Shrine, and the Poolside Cave in the present after defeating Orgodemir in the past.
