Hank Hoffman, Jr. (Hector in the NES version) is a temporary playable character in Dragon Quest IV. The son of an innkeeper at the Last Chance Saloon, he lost faith in his friends when they seemingly betrayed him while on a quest, and as a result distrusts all humanity. However, after the party shows him the symbol of faith they found in the Cave of Betrayal, he comes to his senses and is able to come to terms with the past.

Hank is present in the near-future version of Reaper's Peak, running the village bar. He doesn't remember how he ended up in the settlement but is happy to be there even if he has a bad habit of calling the place Hoffton.
