Only found in the Japanese version of the game, they can be obtained by doing the daily quest, randomly by completing quests, and as event rewards. There are two reward lists, one that is permanent and another that changes every few months. In both cases, players can obtain rare materials and cosmetic equipment, such as the outfit of the hero of {{Dragon Quest Swords}}. One of the most important mini medal reward is the scroll that unlocks the Brave Knight vocation, a very powerful offensive vocation.

There are also ''dark medals'' and ''super dark medals'', obtained by defeating Fiend-difficulty and Archfiend-difficuly foes. Both of these types of medal allows the players to obtain rare materials and exclusive cosmetic.
