'''Balzack''' is a character in ''[[Dragon Quest IV]]''. A disciple of the alchemist [[Edgar]], [[Mara]] and [[Nara]]'s father, he killed his teacher for the [[Secret of Evolution]] he had discovered. The entirety of Chapter 4 is centred on the twins' quest to confront Balzack, whom they finally confront and defeat at [[King Leo]] castle. If he is injured he will heal himself fully with [[BEHOMA]]. In the fifth chapter, he is more powerful (the [[Monster Book]] displays him as "Balzack+"; he is now a recolored [[Gigademon]]), and is occupying the Castle [[Santohaim]]. He is very arrogant, and disliked even by his subordinate [[demons]]. His intention, he says, is to enhance his body to be even more godlike than [[Saro]]'s, but he lacks the [[Golden Bracelet]] which allows him to use the full power of the Secret of Evolution.
