Rubiss isn't mentioned in the original Famicom/NES versions of the game. However, as of the SFC remake, and carried into future re-releases, Rubiss has been the subject of two brief prayers of adulation in the aftermath of the Hero 1's victory over the Dragonlord. Specifically, the Sage in the Sanctum who bestows the Hero 1 with the Rainbow Drop, as well as the Sage in Cantlin who tells the Hero 1 about the location of the Mark of Erdrick mention Rubiss. The two sages have the exact same dialogue, as many of the citizens of Alefgard share dialogue with other characters of the same NPC class at this point in the end-game. | Rubiss isn't mentioned in the original Famicom/NES versions of the game. Rubiss is a central figure to the plot. Sometime between the events of III and I, she departs Alefgard for a new land. Upon the rise of the Dragonlord, she entrusts Princess Gwaelin with the Sphere of Light and instructs her to hide in the Shrine of Rain. Gwaelin is kidnapped by the Dragonlord, who seeks the Sphere for the purpose of fulfilling his birthright as the son of the Dragon Queen. Following this, in the Shrine of Rain, the Hero 1 is asked by the Sage of Rain to summon Rubiss to prove his worth as the descendant of Erdrick.
Rubiss frequently communicates with Gwaelin during the latter's imprisonment, revealing to her that the Dragon Queen's egg had been corrupted and must be cleansed of the darkness.
start Using the Lyre of Ire, the five sigils, and the Faerie Flute, the Hero, along with Dream-Whisperer and Over-Seer, succeed in summoning Rubiss back to the world. Rubiss points the Hero to the Sanctum to receive the Rainbow Drop.
During the ending of the game, Rubiss tells the Hero and Gwaelin that while darkness still prevails, she vows to aid his descendants in the future. She also thanks him for freeing the soul of the Dragonlord, and mentions that he will eventually be reborn into the light someday, free from darkness. Afterwards, Rubiss returns to her slumber within Alefgard.end
