-This Japan-only game takes place 20 years prior to the story of Dragon Quest VIII and explores Red's relationship with Yangus during their youth.
+Red plays a supporting role in this game, which takes place during her and Yangus's childhood. The young Red enters Pottal Land, a miniature kingdom that exists within a mysterious pot obtained by Yangus's father's band of thieves, to find a feverfew root to heal her sick mother. She obtains the root without much trouble, but leaving the strange world turns out to be much more difficult than entering it, so she teams up with Yangus and Torneko to explore the land's many dungeons and collect the components to assemble a way home.
