Xia is the mother of the hero in Square Enix's Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King. She was a Dragovian who fell in love with a human, Eltrio, who happened to be the crown prince of Argonia. Because Eltrio was not a Dragovian, both he and Xia were forbidden to remain together.
