Blackball is the dragon attack used by the living shadows, beating enemies black and blue with spheres of darkness.

Etymology[edit]
- Blackballing is a term that refers to voting against someone in an anonymous ballot, as opposed to voting for someone via Whiteballing. More broadly, dark spheres in general have negative implications in several contexts such as in billiards or in Dragon Quest's own Tombola
