The evac-u-bell is a series of three spherical bells clasped together in a red band of fabric. Once rung, the bells bend space and allow the ringer to return to the overworld just like the Evac spell. This handy chime first appeared in Dragon Quest Monsters 2 in 2001 and did not reappear until Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker in 2006.

Dragon Quest X[edit]

Dragon Quest Monsters 2[edit]

Known as "ExitBells" in this Enix America, Inc. localization, the debut appearance of the bells has Cobi and Tara finding them throughout the teleportal worlds they explore for an easy time getting back to GreatLog.

Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker[edit]

Known as "exodust" in this game, the bells enter the third dimension and allow the player to slip out of any dungeon like before.

Etymology[edit]

  • The item's first English name under the Square Enix brand is a play on the Latin word exodus, which means "to leave", and is the root word of the English exit.
