Witherwood is a recurring item in the Dragon Quest series. It is a valuable piece of lumber found in deserts and other dry places that is used as a crafting material.

Dragon Quest X[edit]
Witherwood is used as a material mainly for crafting furniture, as well as some weapons and armour. It can be purchased from a material shop for 280 gold, picked up from sparkly spots, or dropped by certain monsters such as Stumpkins and Cyclopses.

Witherwood can be picked up from sparkly spots in the Gallopolis Region or dropped by Brownies. It can be sold for 70 gold. Witherwood is only used in two recipes for the Fun-Size Forge:
- Recipe: Battle fork = Beast bone x2 + Witherwood + Yellow eye
- Recipe: Jolly brolly = Witherwood x2 + Waveweed + Sparkly sap
