Tiny tortoise shell is a recurring item in the Dragon Quest series. It is a small and light shell left behind by a monster that is used as a crafting material.

Tiny tortoise shell is used as a material for crafting armour or in Alchemy to increase Defence on torso or leg armour. It can be purchased from a material shop for 250 gold each or dropped by various monsters, including Waspions, Crabids, Squid kids, Crabber dabber doos, and Scornets.

Tiny tortoise shell can be purchased for 250 gold from the roving emporiums in the Zwaardsrust Region and the Costa Valor, as well as from the item shop at Nautica from the second act onward. It can also be picked up from sparkly spots at Insula Orientalis and the Eerie Eyrie or dropped by Crabids, Crabber dabber doos, and Kriller killers. It can be sold for 62 gold.
