The iron cuirass, also known as the iron breastplate, is a recurring piece of armor in the Dragon Quest series. It is a mid-ranking piece of equipment that only covers the wearer's chest.

The iron cuirass has a defence bonus of +25. It can be equipped by the Hero, Harry, Sancho, Tuppence, and many monster companions.
Dragon Quest VI
Dragon Quest VII
The iron cuirass has a defence bonus of +26 and a style bonus of +4. It can be purchased in Pilgrim's Perdition for 2,000 gold and sold for 1,000. It can be equipped by the Hero, Sir Mervyn, and Aishe.
Dragon Quest VIII
The iron cuirass has a defence bonus of +25. It can only be equipped by Yangus.
