Knuckle Sandwich is a recurring ability in the franchise. It is a focused, chi-enriched hay-maker.
Appearances
Dragon Quest IV
Knuckle Sandwich appears in remake versions of the game as an enemy-only skill that can be used by Chow Mein.
Dragon Quest VI
Knuckle Sandwich inflicts 150% damage, but has a chance to miss the target if it has any resistance to the strike/rock attribute. Carver obtains this ability during a story event in Murdaw's Keep. Other characters can learn this ability by advancing to rank 5 of the Martial Artist vocation.
Dragon Quest VII
Carbon copy of VI's in the PSX version, and deals 200% damage for 2 MP in the 3DS remake.
Dragon Quest VIII
Knuckle Sandwich is a Fisticuffs technique that the Hero, Yangus, and Angelo can learn, as well as Morrie in the 3DS version. It requires 12 skill points by Yangus, 24 skill points by the Hero, 35 skill points by Angelo, and 28 skill points by Morrie. All four need 2 MP to perform the technique.
Dragon Quest IX
This ability is learned with 25 skill points invested into Fisticuffs skill. Damage is base attack + 50%, with no additional chance to miss. Costs 2 MP to use, making it easy to exploit.
