The Wayfarer's clothes, also known as the traveler's clothes, are a common set of clothing in the Dragon Quest series. They typically offer low-level defensive protection.

Characteristics

The wayfarer's clothes consists of a sturdy, long blue sleeveless tunic made out of hemp, worn with a leather belt around the waist, and a blue cape. They can typically be purchased in the first town a player visits in a game and offer a decent amount of protection for novice adventurers, especially spellcasters who cannot wear heavier armour. Wayfarer's clothes are one of the few items in the series whose price has stayed consistent in every game they have appeared.

Appearances

Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation

The Wayfarer's clothes have a Defence bonus of +8 and can be worn by every class except Martial Artists. They can be purchased for 70 gold coins in Aliahan and sold for 52 gold. The hero starts the game with some equipped and the King of Aliahan gives the Hero one set at the start of his journey. Another set can be found in the Promontory Passage. Wayfarer's clothes can also be dropped by Crabids, Vladiators, and Shades.
