'''Diamond slime''' refers to a pair of distinct but thematically similar [[slime family|slimes]] that appear in the ''Monsters'' spinoff games.
==Localization history==
The English name of diamond slime was first used in ''Tact'' where it was used as a literal translation of Daiyamondo suraimu (Diamond slime). The diamond slime name was later applied to the Kurisutaru suraimu (Crystal slime) for the English localization of ''The Dark Prince''. The two monsters are very similar in appearance, being based on precious gems, with the largest difference being that one is a diamond cut while the other is set into a ring to resemble jewelry. It is possible that this high similarity is what lead to the same English name being used for both monsters, though serendipitously both monsters do reflect different stages in the jewelry making industry and can be seen as representing different stages of the process.
