The crackshot crossbow is an item in Dragon Quest XI that draws enemies to attack the player, gifted to the Luminary by Bo the Bowman in Gallopolis. In 2D mode, it has the same effect as the Erdrick trilogy's Lyre of Ire or the skill Whistle. In 3D mode, shooting an enemy with it provokes it to run towards the player. Its immediate use upon receiving it is in drawing flying horknights so the player can use their mounts.

Crossbow Colossus

In 3D mode in most versions, there are targets scattered all across Erdrea, and the quest Crossbow Colossus received from Bo involves shooting all of these targets. Friendly Bodkin Archers throughout Erdrea will tell you your progress in the quest so far. An achievement is earned for getting all of them.

This quest was removed in the Definitive Edition and 3DS version because it could not be completed in 2D mode.
