The Oaken staff, also known as the Oak staff, is a recurring weapon in the Dragon Quest series. It is the weapon the Hero from Dragon Quest V is seen wielding in his official artwork. It has gone on to become the most basic Wand for spellcasters.

The Oak staff has an Attack bonus of +3, a Magical Might bonus of +2, a Magical Mending and style bonus of +1, and increases the wielder's weight by 2, as well as having a MP absorption rate of 2%. The staff can be equipped by Mages, Armamentalists, Sages, and Druids. It can be crafted with woodworking.
