The watermaul wand is a recurring weapon in the Dragon Quest series, first being a one handed staff before being reclassified as a two-hander in more recent games. Its effects have differed from title to title, but it is associated with the roaring ocean.

Lastly, thriller waves and killer waves drop them 1/256 of the time.
