Nintendo was the creator of the main platforms for the Dragon Quest series up to and including Dragon Quest VI. With Dragon Quest VII, Sony's Playstation became the main platform. However, Dragon Quest games continued to be released for Nintendo handheld platforms, and Dragon Quest X is being developed for Nintendo's Wii system.
