==Characteristics==
Elepi are beige-colored [[Aquatic family|octopi]] crossed with elephants, possessing large yellow eyes, a long trunk, and a pair of tusks on its face. They have 8 tentacles, 4 fleshy spikes on their heads, and their trunk and undersides are orange. In ''VII'', the elepus has purple glowing eyes instead of its normal yellow. It attacks using both its long tentacles and exhaling fiery breath and is also known as something of a dancer, as well.
 
In the Jump Comics Selection Guide Book for the {{Famicom}} version of {{IV}}, there is an illustration of an Elepus performing a dance while holding a fan in one of its many tentacles.

The Elepus is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first appearing in Dragon Quest IV. As its name implies, it is an octopus crossed with an elephant.

Characteristics[edit]

Elepi are beige-colored octopi crossed with elephants, possessing large yellow eyes, a long trunk, and a pair of tusks on its face. They have 8 tentacles, 4 fleshy spikes on their heads, and their trunk and undersides are orange. In VII, the elepus has purple glowing eyes instead of its normal yellow. It attacks using both its long tentacles and exhaling fiery breath and is also known as something of a dancer, as well.
