Pyre o' Fire creates a pillar of flame that singes the enemy, dealing 170~190 damage for 0 MP, but has a 33.5% chance to fail when used. It is affected by Backdraft and Insulatle.
Appearances[edit]
Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation[edit]
Pyre o' Fire deals high fire damage and can bypass Defending Champion. It is learned by advancing to rank 7 of the Ranger vocation.
It is used by the enemies Loss leader, Demon overlord, and Mortamor's third form.
Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past[edit]
As the ranger class is not present in VII, the skill is instead learned by reaching rank 8 of the Luminary vocation in the PSX version and rank 7 in the 3ds remake, as well rank 4 of the Druid vocation in the remake.
It can be used by the Fire Spirit against the party.
Dragon Quest X[edit]
Pyre o' Fire is learned by the Druid vocation when 40 points are invested into the 召喚 (Summoning) skill tree. The skills costs 12 MP to lob a fireball at one enemy and has a base range of 90~120, with the damage calculation being (Magical might-200) x 0.7348 + 90~120 for a maximum range of 935~965 at 1,350 magical might. It no longer has a chance to fail when used.
