The Flamethrower is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first appearing in Dragon Quest IV. It is a floating elemental spirit with pyrokinetic powers.

CharacteristicsEdit

Flamethrowers have the appearance of goblin-like humanoid creatures with blue skin, long pointy ears, and a wild mane of hair composed of flames. They are constantly seen floating in midair and juggle the fireballs they can create with impish delight. Their eyes are yellow with small black pupils and they have an iron ring around their heads, giving them the appearance of a flaming brazier. The Flamethrowers wear a white breastplate with a skirt attached over a pair of black trunks, a white pair of boots, and gold bracelets on their wrists. Like many other humanoid monsters, the Flamethrower is depicted as having five fingers on their hands in modern depictions instead of four. Depending on the game, the Flamethrower has been part of the Elemental or Material family.
