The crimson robe is a recurring robe in the series that first appeared in Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King. It is a high-level robe for spellcasters that protects the wearer from ice attacks.

Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King[edit]
The Crimson robe has a Defence bonus of +82, reduces damage taken from ice breath attacks by 20 points, and can be equipped by Jessica and Angelo. It can only be made in the Alchemy Pot and can be sold for 11,250 gold coins. The robe can also be given to Dodgy Dave in Pickham in exchange for the Big boss shield.
- In the 3DS version, Morrie can equip the robe as well. It can also used to make the Oriental warrior wear in the Alchemy Pot by combining it with a Flowing dress and a Lunar fan.
